Book Review
Many players consider this to be the penultimate tournament book available. We consider it a solid, worthwhile companion piece to Super System because their approaches to poker are so different. Cloutier's style of play is much tighter than Doyle's. Cloutier goes in depth on why certain hands that seem relatively powerful are very dangerous.Often newer player will place too much value in hands like KJ, QJ and Q10 that might seem worth playing (and can sometimes win) but are a lot riskier than they realized. Cloutier also covers something that isn't often well-explained in other poker books: discussing how to play your monster hand after the flop has come, which changes the relative value of your hand altogether and often makes or breaks the player's wallet. While there is a lot of chatter (which you may or may not enjoy), reading this book helps teach players how to be consistent which ads a level of professionalism and strength to their game play.
